The normal Stuff

Some slightly more recent stuff, jei!!! Actually, its still from last year, but at least a little bit newer then the last posts.
While looking at this whole Drift- and Stance-Scene and just tuning in general nowadays, its actually pretty normal limousines and coupes being the center of attraction for a lot of the younger crowd (and me as well a bit). Cars like the original Toyota AE86 or the Nissan Silvia where quite affordable cars when being new and still wouldn't attract a lot of views on the street from a non-enthusiast-person.
So, I had some ideas about how a small and affordable bread-and-butter-limousine would look like if it would have been designed right from the beginning to attract these guys. As I am kind of bored from all these new supercars flooding the market and focusing myself on more overlooked and odd things lately, I threw in a good portion of weirdness as well.
It is also supposed to be quite practical, with a big trunk, fitting 4 persons properly, not having ridicously small windows, too big wheels or being enormously wide, just like a normal, cheap limousine. So, here are some first results:

Some Hot Rod Idea

Another old one: While looking at some motorcycles, especially the Ducati Monster with their nice exposed frame, I thought of a Car with having some kind of similar frame, also located above the engine, with everything else hanging from this structure. Might not make a whole lot of sense in terms of a low center of gravity and all, but I think it would look lightweight and cool. The bodywork is supposed to be like a shell, covering the car mostly from above, like funny-car-dragsters or similar stuff.
So, did a few scribbles and one quick sideview.
I do actually still like this idea and will hopefully take it a bit further in the future...

stuff with wings - slightly updated

Hello out there. Still beeing kind of lazy with designing stuff in my freetime, some ideas floating around (like always) but somehow not motivated enough to bring them into nice sketchwork. So, to fill the hole, some older stuff again. Did this slightly more detailed renderings on one sketch from the wing-racecar-thingi from some time ago, always wanted to bring this project further, but somehow I've lost interest on it now. Also, not really happy with these sketches, but anyhow, here they are:

Small wheels good - also in 2015!

Did some work sometime last year (or was it even 2013?) on the little wheels/big greenhouse thinigi, and I'm quite happy with the result so far. The 3d-model is still very rough, main proportions and surfaces are there, but it would need a lot of time in finishing and stuff like this which will probably never happen.
Working on projects I mainly thought about years ago needs a lot of motivation, which I dont have very often. So I did a few renderings a while ago to show the design updates.
Also, some package/comparison-screenshots for size-relations. Any comments?

small wheels good!! we need big greenhouses!!!

Jup, something new for the blog. I had no internet for a while because of moving into a new flat and i borrowed my wacom to a friend and because of that and a million other reasons there was nothing happening here at all. does anybody bother anyway?

Whatsoever, here are some sketches from last year about a little street car. As I had no wacom there are just some small scibbles done while watching a movie or stuff like this.
I really like the idea of using quite small wheels and big greenhouses and still do a nice looking car. as long as you can have a proper stance and good proportions i think the wheel size doesnt really matter. i mean, the stratos zero had like, what, 12inch wheels in the front or something like that, and its still one of the nicest cars of all time.
Just because nowadays cars are all so fatties with enormous bodysides, you need big wheels to make it look not completely out of proportions.

I was modelling a bit on this as well, on the screenshot you can see the size of that thing in comparison to a golf IV. its really small and cute, just look at it,oohhhh, how sweet it is with its friendly face :)

Fictional classic Bimma

wing attack!!!

This are some sketches I did for this front-wing-thing I showed here like a year ago. They are not only Ideation Sketches for the final design, more like random tries for some crazy wing-monsters.

Some of them are already a year old, some I did a few month ago. I randomly worked on them, reworked them from time to time, and always wanted to render them a bit more nicely. But I only did this last year with the two sketches from the last post.
As I will probably never render the rest, I just show them now like they are.
I quite like some of them, especially the one on top.
Maybe I'll create some more refined Designs out of them, like I did with the Shooting brake.

Oi!!!

This is a project I'm thinking of since quite a few years, but I barely did any nice-looking sketches for it, so i never showed anything yet. I always wanted to show most of my ideas as nice renderings, but never found the time. the whole projects is mostly only existing in my head and as little skribbles.

It's some kind of hot rod inspired by these cool vintage aircrafts with their frontends completely covered in small windows. i really like the look of these old vintage aircrafts (who doesn't?) and wanted to bring this look on some vintage hot rod, from the outside as from the inside.

of course, a car like this has to be driven from a proper engine, the russian 9 cylinder-radial engine medenejew M14.
I want to create an tubular space frame inspired by Buckminster fuller buildings for this with a lot of small connections and structures, but i dind't finished yet. So at the moment only some exterior renderings to show. I still have a lot of other rough sketches, ideas and some unfinished renderings from this for both exterior and interior, maybe I'll show some more here soon.

Rest in peace, SAAB

poor little company, doing all the nice, quirky stuff up to the 90s, then got boring, then some very promising showcars with barely any result in production cars and at the end some castriota-monstrosity.
very sad for the car world to loose one of the last more individual small mass manufacturers...

a soap with a co-driving turbo...
